Host, Lost in Translation
Cynthia Bernard is a Montreal-area color guard educator, designer, director, judge, and consultant with more than 25 years in the activity. Through Cynthia Bernard Colorguard Optimization, she helps performers, instructors, and programs with technique, leadership, sports psychology, program structure, design, choreography, and competition strategy. Her experience includes work with groups in Canada and the United States, including Third Legend, Les Éclipses, Sonnor, Troopers, Hawthorne Caballeros, and Emanon Winterguard.
Cynthia is the host of OAWB’s Lost in Translation, a series that brings international voices into conversations about the language, culture, and shared experiences of the marching arts. In 2025, WGI welcomed her as the first international member of its Color Guard Steering Committee, adding a Canadian perspective to the organization’s ongoing work. She brings OAWB a mix of technical knowledge, global context, and practical support for the people behind the programs.
